RISE believes that the best learning and success happens in the “real world”, where participants have the opportunity for the most hands-on experiences. Thus, the majority of our programming will be happening within the DC community, whether that be learning job-readiness skills, exploring hobbies, or taking day trips around town. Our RISE Center located on Capitol Hill acts as our “hub” for lunches, individual skills time, and independent household and daily living tasks. The RISE Center also serves as a drop-off and pick-up point for our participants.

We will work with the participant and their support team to make sure that the day programming provided is targeting specific needs and goals. Throughout the day program, the RISE team will create, trial, and implement a range of visuals and modifications that will help participants more independently and confidently participate in their community. Coaching a participant’s support team will occur on an as-needed basis to increase carryover and generalization of skills learned during day programming.
